DotEngine

About

DotEngine is a user interface to visualize and explore distance relations between objects. Each object is visualized as a dot with a name on a two dimensional plane. The position and color of the dot are modified over time according to a distance measure.

In case of Lalaclick objects are songs and the distance measure is based on the tags assigned to them by last.fm users.

In Lola the DotEngine was used to visualize relations between gene sniplets by computing edit distances.
